Tropical Dreams in Kauai

Stopped by this place two nights ago with the family and we are back again tonight, it was that good. Tons of flavors and they are excellent. The banana cream pie flavor was amazing, as was the peanut butter brownie. Banana fudge and very cream were also very good. Possible we will be back again tomorrow before we leave the island!

This place has a lot of charm and has amazing ice cream. The service is really great, too!

Some of the best ice cream in the world. Unique flavors. Close competition with Lappert's but I think Lappert's edges them out in flavor and tropical dreams beats them in portion size. Huge scoops! Convenient kapaa location, especially right next to Starbucks. The soft serve is a commercial prep so would not recommend that unless that's what your really want. Good sorbets too but no milkshake. My favorite is macadamia nut and ate it every day. New lot of ice cream delivered every Friday from big island so selection will change a little on Fridays for the week.

Our family stopped in for a snack and we loved the ice cream choices! So good! Plus the young man working was kind and friendly! Very impressed! Will be back!

Super happy to have stopped for ice cream before leaving the island. They had all the standard flavors plus a few unique flavors that we enjoyed. I had the earl grey tea and shortbread cookie ice cream and really enjoyed it. The employee working was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the ice cream he was serving. He let us try all the flavors we asked and had great suggestions. Another great find!

Great ice cream and service!

Wonderful service! Tasty treats! There is a comfortable feel that reminiscent of old style ice cream shops. The staff have always had a smile and worked diligently while managing to keep a line of customers happy! If you want to try it, ask! I warn you though, I have not tried a flavor I didn't immediately want. Always a great experience!

Yummy cold treats. Loved the POG sorbet and Macadamia nut gelato.

In the Kaua’i Village Shopping Center. Great ice cream, steep price. Two medium scoops in a waffle bowl with one topping at $9. Had the Kona Coffee and Cake Batter with mac nut brittle and it was delicious. I liked the Chocolate Ganache Gelato and experience down at Lappert’s a bit better.

10 years ago this ice cream was only available on Kauai at the Kilauea video store but now it’s in a shopping center in kapaa. Everyone loved it. Friendly staff and instructions posted for ordering. A little persnickety about sampling, try to limit yourself to 3 but the staff didn’t bother us as I missed that request until after we had ordered. I’m a huge lilikoi/passion fruit fan and they had lilikoi cream that was really tasty. Worth at least one stop during your stay. Hours can be errr flexible. We showed up after noon and it was closed and we showed up shortly before it was set to close around 8pm and it was packed.

Good icecream place. The macadamia nut was very good. Coconut one was decent.

Great ice cream! Our favorite was the lilikoi cheesecake, but everything we tried was tasty!

Soft serve machine was out of service. Only two local flavors ice cream. Nothing out of the box, just a regular OK quality ice cream.

Mango Lycheeeee!!!! So delicious! They had for be vegan sorbet options when we visited. The owner is awesome and very cheerful.

Lots of unique delicious flavors! The staff was very friendly and patient while my kids were picking out flavors.

This is probably the best ice cream I’ve had in years. They offer a variety of flavors but I would recommend something unique to the tropical places like toasted coconut, pineapple, Mac nut fudge, lychee.. they were all so good. We kind of had an ice cream marathon and visited this place every single day of our stay on the island. We went for the three scoop option where you can mix and match, it’s the most economical. Great service, yummy ice cream in good portions - worth the money.

This place was so good that we came here 3 times during our 5 day stay! Operated by the friendliest staff out there as well 😄

Very nice employees. Decent ice cream, but the flavors were too gourmet for me. They didn't really have any of the flavors you would expect to find in an ice cream shop. This place would be good for those who like unusual flavor combinations.

Located in the same shopping center as Safeway and right next door to the ABC Store. They're staff is so friendly. They have a great selection and everything is very good. We come here every time we come to Kauai.

They had all kind of unique flavors that were very good. I recommend going there if you are in kuaui.

Try the toasted coconut icecream. Its unbelievable good. Great choices.

Homemade ice cream. Small, quaint and locally owned & operated. Great treats but very limited seating to linger and enjoy them. Grab & go to the beach or park.

This ice cream shop was a nice find. Easy parking with its location in the shopping center. They get their shipments of new ice cream flavors every Friday, so expect new menu changes and flavors that day. Great flavor options. Great tasting ice cream. The employees were helpful and great at recommending options. They allow you to try any flavors, with a maximum of three per person. Our favorite flavor was “coconut storm” (coconut ice cream with strawberries and Oreos). NOTE: some previously posted pictures reflect older pricing and menu structure. Pictures I posted are reflective of April 2018.

I love Tropical Dreams brand ice cream but this particular store couple use a little upkeep, the floors are pretty gnarly, etc.

Amazing ice cream place. Their ice cream is imported from the big island hence the large price tag but you won't regret trying this ice cream. They let you try samples which is great. We got 1 scoop of the Leche and kona coffee which were amazing.

The young girl that helped us was very sweet, the ice cream and selection was excellent, and the prices were not that bad (considering that the shop is on Kauai). Definitely a great place to stop by, especially if you are on the east coast or after a hot day.

Loved the chocolate peanut butter brownie. They squeeze in a lot of ice cream in to the cups!

Amazing creamy ice cream with an assortment of fun Hawaiian flavors. I recommend Toasted Coconut and Macadamia Nut. The only downside is that there's not a lot of seating.

Friendly service, good ice cream and I'd say decent prices for the area. Definitely worth a visit.

So far the best ice cream I've had on the island. The texture and creaminess is on point. Can't go wrong with Mexican chili chocolate!

ALOHA, Tropical Dreams Hawaii has SO MANY wonderful & delicious flavours. The folk working tonight were amazing and went way above and beyond what we expected. They also had great suggestions of things to do while on Kauai during our honeymoon! MAHALO! Hope to go back soon

Amazing flavors. The lychee cream was excellent and included the pieces of lychee. The kids loved the root beer sorbet and they had dole whip dairy free soft serve which was also excellent. They served on the day we were there 4 more flavors of dairy free sorbet. Service was incredible and patient and I highly recommend this for your ice cream fix.

Probably the best ice cream place I have been to in a long time. We have been on Kauai for about a week and have eaten here 3 times!! (Cookie Monster is SO GOOD!!) I highly recommend this place to anyone needing a nice cold treat. Wish they had something this good where I lived! Or maybe it’s good that they don’t...

Not as good as lapperts but not bad considering there isn’t a ton of ice cream on the island!

Well made ice cream with fresh cream and very low air content providing a rich, fast melting ice cream that delivers its flavor very well. Candy and cookie ingredients are left in chunky form giving the ice cream a great variation of texture in their creative combinations. On this trip, the banana storm was excellent with just the right amount of cookies and strawberries. Also had some brownie mint that will definitely satisfy any "mint chocolate" lovers. Generous portions and a friendly staff to top it all off.

There are probably options for ice cream on the island as I wouldn't exactly describe this as creamy ice cream. Perhaps it was just the bottom of the batch.
